Article Publishing Is A Major Part Of Any Successful Marketing Blog
Frequently when I am speaking with other writers and I bring up the subject of article writing, I often get a response like "I'd rather have a colonoscopy, I just can not write", or "my spelling is horrible and my grammar is not much better". In my view, the first excuse is just a matter of attitude. The latter excuse lands on deaf ears because all major word processing software have good spelling and grammar correction capabilities..
We're not speaking about something that would qualify for the Pulitzer Prize in literature, simply articles dealing with a niche that could be of interest to a group of writers who also may happen to have an interest in your particular business proposition or activity.
While not as stimulating as the college professor's dilemma of "publish or die", many Internet writers have found that the publicity and traffic that articles will bring to their website is second only in importance to actually making sales.
When writing articles, start by clearly defining what you want to write about. Focus on the topic and the overall message that you want to communicate. Sometimes you will start with a title then expand from there, and other times the title may be the last part you write.
Structure your material (be it knowledge, thoughts, or opinions) into a logical sequence or order. Don't try for the finished article in the first draft. Just let your mind, and words, to flow and get some ink down on paper. This may occur in a single writing, for longer articles, it may be done in various rough draft sessions possibly broken into logical parts of what will eventually become your finished article.
Now that you've finished the rough stuff, it's time to make your adjustments, smooth the rough edges, and possibly do some tweaks in terms of organization. Run your text through the spelling/grammar checking tool of your word processor and make the appropriate corrections.
Now that the body of words that you have written is "technically clean" from a spelling/grammar standpoint and you have satisfied yourself with the organization, its time to perform the final styling or polishing to confirm readability (that may or may not be a word, but I'll claim poetic license and go ahead and use it). Read your article aloud to yourself and grasp a feel for the emphasis or rhythm. The readability of the whole article can be affected by changing the arrangement of words and/or exchanging one like-meaning word for another. The ultimate goal is to attract readership.
Many entrepreneurs use their articles as a integral component in launching successful internet marketing careers, earning very substantial incomes. Remember, with regard to writing articles, you're better than you think you are...it's all about attitude!
