Why Has The Paula Deen Diabetic Diagnosis Gotten So Many Individuals Angry?

It has been over a week now since the Food Channel's southern cuisine gourmet Paula Deen announced to the world that she had been diagnosed 3 years ago with having Type 2 diabetes. She made the statement last Tues, January 17th to Al Roker on NBC's Today Show.

I've had an opportunity to read some of the reaction to her statement and it would appear that in certain groups, Paula Deen ranks just beneath Hitler and Osama Bin Laden on the world's most hated persons list! Remarks contained terms such as selfish, liar, no ethics or scruples and "YOU ARE THE DEVIL".

All this impassioned response, I have to admit, makes ME WANT TO SCREAM!!! Someone please correct me in the event that I'm wrong. Paula Deen is a chef on a cable television network program who's objective is to provide ENTERTAINMENT. She usually spends one hour each week for 30 weeks showing people ways to prepare meals that will TASTE good. If eaten without excess, a Paula Deen recipe will harm nobody.

I wish people would become this upset at the political figures that get on television and spread fabrications every day and night after which they pass regulations that actually impact our way of life. I wish the same media that gives such an abundance of coverage holding Paula Deen answerable for preparing fatty foods on her "entertainment show" would hold the same politicians accountable for their passage of "pork filled bills" in the midst of the night. Government "pork" has injured a lot more people than Paula Deen ever could with her entertainment show, yet she is the "DEVIL" to some!

In my opinion, this sort of reaction to the Paula Deen news rests at the core of why we have an obesity epidemic in this country. It's not because selfish unscrupulous cable television entertainment chefs like Paula Deen happen to be forcing fatty foods down our throats. It is simply because we have made the choice to consume more calories each day than we burn up, and also fail to engage in frequent physical activity.

If we have obese children, in which we are responsible for their eating plans along with activities, it's because we have elected to feed them more calories each day than they burn off plus fail to make certain they will engage in regular physical exercise. If we have fat dogs and overweight cats for pets, it's because we elect to give them more calories than they burn off and neglect to make sure they get adequate regular exercising.

This isn't rocket science. We have an obesity issue in the United States because of the choices all of us make on eating and regular exercise. If we genuinely wish to solve this problem and enhance our quality of life, we need to stop searching for people to pin the blame on constantly like Paula Deen and take responsibility ourselves.

Lastly, in regards to Type 2 diabetes. There are many factors which determine whether or not somebody could have it or not. These elements include genetics, age, stress, body weight, exercise and diet. Type 2 diabetes isn't caused by any single one of those factors, nor is it because of Paula Deen and her entertainment cooking program.

There are many weight loss and fitness systems out there that will work for those who work them. Eating healthful eating, maintaining your weight under control as well as regular exercise will do wonders to control Type 2 diabetes and even eliminate it.
